International Training Programmes for Accreditation Unit Reviewers - 2024

The Accreditation Unit of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) recently conducted a series of international academic visits and training workshops for its reviewer members. These programmes were proudly sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO).

A total of three specialized training programmes were held between June 3, 2024, and June 8, 2024, focusing on enhancing the medical education accreditation standards in Sri Lanka.

1. Training Programme – Singapore

•  Host Institutions: National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Centre for Medical Education (CenMED).

• Dates: June 3 – June 4, 2024 (2 days).

• Participants: 12 members attended this session.

• Focus: Academic visit and training for the Reviewers of the Accreditation Unit

2. Training Programme – Thailand (Batch 1)

• Host Institutions: Institute for Medical Education Accreditation (IMEAc) and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.

• Dates: June 6 – June 7, 2024 (2 days).

• Participants: 06 members attended this session.

3. Training Programme – Indonesia (Batch 2)

• Host Institution: Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (IAAHEH).

• Dates: June 6 – June 7, 2024 (2 days).

• Participants: 06 members attended this session
